The jadikan Lightning Project saw the light in October 2008, after years discovering and experimenting with long exposure photographies.

Light up along the night, to find lost places. Bring them alive with several tools the darkness is a new world. Between performance, painting and photography, light-painting open ways to create images with the time dimension.

Light Painting

'Light painting' is not such a brand new experience. In 1949, Gjon Mili in association with Pablo Picasso had already experimented. And even before, US Photographer Man Ray had invented the very first "light painting, back in 1937. Today's Light Painting has seen its potential substantially growing, due to recent technological developments of numeric photography, creating ability to view the picture without any delay. This feature allows to take and re-take the picture, until result arises exactly as desired.

Light Painting is a photography technic. Manipulating various light sources in a dark or lightless environment and create, draw or paint lightnings effects. Pictures are being shot using a single shutter cycle long exposure time.

Painting spaces within a given space-time

Very amusing activity, light painting can be practiced with friends, or on one's own.
Technically speaking, objective is as simple as setting your camera on a long exposure time, shutter opened from a few seconds up to several minutes. Everythings becomes entirely dependant on imagination, creativity and torchs !
